In the year 1989, a culinary visionary, who was tremendously passionate about cooking, wanted to share his authentic Indonesian recipes.  He opened a restaurant in the northern area of Jakarta, and named it 'Muara Kuring,' which means my village. Muara Kuring wanted to embrace its customers by serving authentic homemade Indonesian food in a warm and homely environment.

As time goes by, Muara Kuring is now more than just a place to eat.  It is a legendary restaurant being passed down from generation to generation with stories to tell, history to remember and memories to make.
